What is the minimum income required for Spanish residency after Brexit?

Regular income requirement

The Public Multiple Effects Income Indicator (IPREM) is an index used in Spain as a reference for granting aid, subsidies or unemployment benefits. As of 2021, a steady income per individual of at least €2,400 (400% IPREM) per month is required. An additional €600 (100% IPREM) of income per month per dependent is also required. A dependent could be a child, or an adult that travels with you who has no income of their own.

So if you are a couple with one income, then you would need to have access to €2,400 (your income) per month + €600 (to cover your dependent partner) = €3,000 per month.

Can I use my savings instead of my monthly income to prove I can support myself? 

Yes, if you don’t have a regular monthly income, you will need to prove that you have at least €28,800 in your bank, every year that you are a resident.

Visa costs 

It costs approximately €80 for a UK citizen to submit a visa application to the Spanish consulate, and can be higher for non-UK residents. You should also take into account solicitor/gestor fees, the cost of medical and criminal record checks, legal stamps and the translation of official documents.
