Living in L'Ampolla

Why move to L’Ampolla

Move here to enjoy some of the best seafood on the Costa, surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Ebro Delta.

L’Ampolla, which means ‘bottle’, is the vessel into which the river Ebro pours. Located on the golden Costa Dorada, this charming town is known as the gateway to the Ebro Delta, a protected landscape of wetlands, beaches, sand dunes, lagoons, marshes, and salt pans.

Naturally, with these abundant sources of aquatic life on its doorstep, L’Ampolla offers a rich and plentiful supply of fresh seafood and fish plucked from the nearby waters. The delta oyster, for example, is found in a wide array of local dishes or enjoyed raw as an appetiser. Eels are smoked and stewed in delicious sauces, rice harvested from the delta is soaked in squid ink and known as black rice.

Aside from the delta, there are plenty of other beaches to explore. The sandy ones have serene, shallow waters perfect for children to splash about in, while the rocky ones have rugged cliffs and coves painted in vivid shades of terracotta, and deep, clear waters waiting to be explored.
